Synopsis...fair weather will continue for the next several days. 
Cooler temperatures can be anticipated today and Saturday as 
northeast flow prevails. Weak high pressure will bring warmer 
temperatures by Sunday and Monday.

A shortwave and cool front that passed through The Four Corners 
region earlier today has ushered in cooler air across the 
Northland. Breezy northeast winds have also developed in its wake. 
There is another weak shortwave trough over California that has brought a 
substantial increase in high level cloud cover today. This feature 
will push southeastward through southwest Arizona tonight. Expect the 
cloud cover to continue this evening primarily along and south of 
I-40...clearing out after midnight. Pressure gradients look strong 
enough overnight to sustain northeasterly breezes...especially for 
areas along and southwest of the Mogollon Rim. Have raised minimum 
temperatures in these areas tonight as they will likely stay a few to 
several degrees above normal. 


Weak high pressure returns late in the weekend through early next 
week with temperatures returning to near normal by Sunday. Another 
series of fast moving shortwaves look to move through the Great 
Basin and Four Corners regions midweek. At this point...neither feature 
looks to bring any appreciable chance of precipitation...but will 
drop high temperatures a few degrees for Tuesday and Wednesday. 


Strong high pressure builds over much of the western U.S. Late next 
week with warming temperatures and continued dry conditions expected.

Aviation...for the 00z package...VFR conditions are expected for 
the next 24 hours. Broken-overcast cirrus south of a krqe-klas line will 
persist through 06z-10z Sat. Surface winds NE 10-20kt along and south of 
the Mogollon Rim and north up to 10kt elsewhere. Aviation discussion not 
updated for amendments.
