Aviation...
VFR conditions with some high clouds through the day. Light wind will
be out of the south to southwest as leeside trough develops. Expect
low clouds over central Texas to stay east of the area.

&&

Previous discussion... /issued 355 am CST Sat Nov 22 2008/

Discussion...
temperatures will warm across the area this weekend as a flat upper
ridge moves overhead and low-level thermal ridging develops. With
ample sunshine and light southerly low-level winds...temperatures
are expected to rebound into the 60s this afternoon. Surface Lee-
side troughing and dry downsloping low-level southwest winds are
expected to strengthen on Sunday...an aid in warming temperatures
into the 70s Sunday afternoon.

The next strong northern stream upper trough will dig southeastward
across the northern plains on Sunday...driving a dry cold front
southward through West Texas and southeast New Mexico Sunday night.
Only modest cold air advection will accompany this frontal
passage...cooling temperatures 10-12f on Monday as compared to
Sunday.

The upper ridge will restrengthen overhead on Tuesday and Wednesday
as a West Coast upper trough amplifies and moves onshore...with a
tendency toward split flow. There remains some differences among
the models with the timing and shape of this West Coast upper
trough...with the general pattern suggesting increasingly moist
southwest flow aloft on Wednesday and Thursday as this upper
trough approaches the area from the west.

Accordingly...clouds and probability of precipitation will be on the increase by midweek
with slight chances for rain showers late Wednesday into
Thanksgiving day. Thermal profiles are indicating slightly warmer
than normal temperatures during the work week thus any precipitation
late Wednesday into Thursday will be in liquid form. A Pacific cold
front then expected to move through the area Thanksgiving
day...ending rain showers from west to east. This cold frontal
passage will be quickly followed by another Pacific cold front
over the weekend as broad overall upper level troughing remains
across the intermountain west.
