Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Grand Forks ND
940 am CST Thursday Dec 4 2008

Discussion...
forecast challenge for update will be cloud trends...temperatures
and snow potential.

Fairly broad band of low level relative humidity/MVFR ceilings in wake of passing middle
level shear axis will swing through forecast area today. This in addition to
low convective temperatures in the middle teens with cold pool overhead
should result in plenty of cloud cover. Upstream Canadian metars
indicating -sn however visibilities for the most part >6 miles so will
maintain mainly flurry mention. Even with lack of snow
cover...eventual clouds will limit any temperature recovery and
temperatures at best will reach convective temperatures in the middle
teens. Will make some minor adjustments to cloud trends otherwise
current forecast in good shape.
&&

Aviation...expect MVFR ceilings to overspread forecast area from northwest to southeast mainly
during afternoon hours. Could see some -sn however visibility not expected
to drop below VFR range.

Fgf watches/warnings/advisories...
ND...none.
Minnesota...none.
