Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Flagstaff Arizona
330 am MST sun Mar 14 2010

Synopsis...cooler temperatures along with rain and snow showers
will continue until tonight as a low pressure center slowly moves
southeastward through the region. High pressure will bring fair
weather from Monday through the middle of the coming work week.

&&

Discussion...a strong cold front has swept across northern Arizona
overnight...bringing widespread light precipitation and sharply
colder temperatures with a switch to northwesterly surface winds.
Moisture wrapping around the low pressure center will continue to
bring snow showers today and this evening...mainly near the nm
border. An additional inch or two is possible in the Black
Mesa...Chuska Mountains...and White Mountains...but otherwise little
or no additional accumulation is expected.

High pressure building into the Great Basin will bring clearing
skies for early in the work week along with northeasterly surface
winds. Temperatures are expected to rise to above normal Tuesday
through the remainder of the work week. However...late in the week
or on the weekend...it is still possible that a shortwave
disturbance could move through northern Arizona bringing cooler
temperatures...a chance of showers...and breezy winds.

&&

Aviation...for the 12z package...expect isolated to scattered -shsn/-shra
with ceilings from 1-3kft above ground level along the Utah border through 21z-23z.
Expect scattered -shsn with similar ceilings along the New Mexico border
through the period. Heavier showers will produce occasional IFR
conditions today. Conditions elsewhere will be VFR...with gusty
north to northwest winds at 15 to 25 kts. Aviation discussion not
updated for amendments.

&&

Fgz watches/warnings/advisories...none.
