Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Birmingham Alabama
925 PM CDT Sat Mar 20 2010

Update...for evening trends.

&&

Discussion...

Center of upper low moving across northeastern Texas this
evening...with the associated surface cold front over central
Arkansas and Louisiana. Numerous showers have developed over
western and southern Mississippi the past few hours and this trend
is expected to continue throughout the night. Showers should reach
west central Alabama around midnight and then slowly overspread
central Alabama Sunday.

Sky cover has played havoc on the evening temperatures...but
overall the forecast is in decent shape. Clouds will continue to
increase throughout the remainder of the evening with temperatures
leveling off ahead of the precipitation.

Some minor adjustments were made to hourly grids and sky cover.
All updates are out.

&&

Aviation...00z taf discussion.

A storm system will approach central Alabama from the west tonight.
Cloud cover will continue to increase and lower through the evening
hours. Rain producing MVFR ceilings and visibilities will begin
affecting tcl by 11z...and continue to spread eastward. An isolated
thunderstorm and gusty southeasterly winds will also be possible. As
rain ends during the afternoon tomorrow...winds will become
southwesterly. Expect MVFR ceilings to linger into the evening hours
tomorrow night.

Bmx watches/warnings/advisories...none.
